She has been qualified in Aromatherapy since November 2000. Aromatherapy massage can be used in so many different ways: A light gentle touch which can be used for the elderly and pregnant Mums to ease aches and pains and promote relaxation; A deep tissue massage can be used for the athletes to soothe their aching muscles after arduous events. The Caledonian Challenge and Maggie’s monster Bike and Hike are a couple of events which Dee treats the athletes at every year. Dee recently completed a course in ‘massage for people living with cancer’. The combination of the essential oils and the massage itself can benefit everyone. In October 2009 Dee received a certificate in counselling skills for people with cancer after completing a year’s course run by Macmillan cancer support.
Dee studied Indian Head Massage in September 2004 and feels its results are outstanding, especially for those who don’t get the chance to be active for the majority of the day. A treatment will release any stress and tension held in the upper body especially in the scalp and neck area. A head massage is great for increasing energy and improving concentration.
Dee began studying Reiki in August 2005. This treatment is different from the others as there is little or no touch. Reiki can have profound results. It works with the body’s energy and can help balance the mind, body and the spirit. It’s great for relieving stress and tension, and also boosts the auto-immune system which stimulates the body’s natural healing process. Dee is now a Reiki Master and started teaching small classes in 2011, contact Dee for more information on Reiki courses.
Dee studied Reflexology at The Academy of Aromatherapy and Massage in Falkirk, and qualified in April 2006.She has been using this therapy to treat many ailments, with wonderful results. There was an increase of mobility and less aches and pains from an arthritis sufferer and general feelings of well-being and comfort from other clients.
Dee believes that her therapies can help people achieve optimum health with regular treatments being an essential part of any healthy lifestyle regime.
