Hatha yoga combines yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) to help bring peace to your mind and body. A Hatha yoga class will usually be relatively slow and gentle. These classes are especially good for beginners and anyone who prefers a relaxed style where postures are held for longer.
Hatha yoga with Lucy Ridley
Lucy’s classes are suitable for all levels and all bodies. Each week will be based around a theme to support you in enjoying a light-hearted and creative approach to your practice. Classes include sun salutations to warm-up and a variety of standing, balancing and floor-based poses, ending with savasana. Lucy encourages you to practice for fun with a compassionate approach to yourself, rather than striving for perfection.
I am a 200-hour qualified yoga teacher and certified Eat Breathe Thrive facilitator. I first tried yoga when I was 13 but it wasn’t until I was at university that I began to build a more regular practice. Over the past 10 years I have enjoyed exploring a variety of styles, including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Kundalini and Aerial yoga. I have found the practice of yoga to be invaluable in supporting my physical, emotional and mental health and I find an incredible sense of joy in sharing this with others.
