Slow flow yoga combines yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) to help bring peace to your mind and body. A slow flow yoga class will be relatively steady and gentle. These classes are especially good for beginners and anyone who prefers a relaxed style in a friendly, informal environment.
Slow flow yoga with Lucy Ridley
Lucy’s classes are suitable for all levels and all bodies. Each week will be different to support you in enjoying a light-hearted and creative approach to your practice. Classes include sun salutations to warm-up and a variety of standing, balancing and floor-based poses, ending with savasana. Lucy encourages you to practice for fun with a compassionate approach to yourself, rather than striving for perfection.
I first tried yoga when I was 13 but it wasn’t until I was at university that I began to build a more regular practice. Since my early 20s I have enjoyed exploring a variety of styles, including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iynengar, Kundalini, Aerial and Yin.
My classes are a slow flow with elements of the above practices. I completed my 200-hour foundation training in 2017 and took a further 100-hour training in Yin and Advanced Anatomy in 2018.
I have found the practice of yoga to be invaluable in supporting my physical, emotional and mental health and I find an incredible sense of joy in sharing this with others.
